For nearly five decades, we’ve delivered marine heavy lift and installation engineering that works at the quay. Our permanently employed team – naval architects, structural and welding engineers, master mariners and marine engineers – provides accurate, flexible support from Hamburg, Rotterdam and Manila.
We combine advanced modelling, simulation and design with hands-on know-how. From lift plans, stowage and sea-fastening to feasibility, route and port studies, our methods are built for safe, efficient execution and iterated fast to keep schedules on plan – making the unprecedented possible.
Our experts
Our permanently employed team combines the skills of naval architects, structural and welding engineers, master mariners and marine engineers. With offices in Hamburg, Rotterdam and Manila, we provide accurate, flexible engineering and on-site support for worldwide projects – turning concepts into execution.
Working hand in hand with port captains and vessel crews, our specialists pair advanced modelling, simulation and design with practical know-how. From lift plans, stowage and sea-fastening to workability, route and port studies, we develop methods that are safe, efficient and buildable – then support them on site to keep schedules on plan and risks controlled.

    Built for execution
Our marine engineering turns concepts into real-world results – heavy lift planning, structural design, hydrodynamics and on-site assistance that keep projects on plan.

What we do
Engineering. Consulting. Site support.
We deliver project-ready marine engineering across heavy lift transport, structural design and hydrodynamics – plus consulting and site support that turns concepts into execution. Services include lift plans, stowage and sea-fastening; motions and workability studies; design reviews, logistics concepts and FEED studies; and on-site cargo operations, route/site assessments and dockyard assistance.
How we work
We combine advanced modelling and simulation with practical know-how: integrated FE analysis, CAD (2D/3D), ship-motion and installation analysis, and weather-restricted transport planning. Where needed, we use on-board motion monitoring and specialist software (e.g. ABB OCTOPUS-Office, OrcaFlex, ANSYS Aqwa) to support decisions.
Site support
Our engineers and supervisors support operations on site: cargo handling, condition surveys, toolbox talks and interface with port captains and crews – ensuring the engineered method is executed safely and efficiently at the quay.
Independent, proven, global
SAL Engineering is an independent sister company within Harren Group, with almost five decades of experience and offices in Hamburg, Rotterdam and Manila – enabling quick response and time-zone coverage for global projects.
